Sunday spin

Road bikes on a gravel trail

Mum and I went out cycling together today. I don’t know how far we travelled or how fast because I left my GPS connected to my motorbike rather than taking it with us.

We rode out along the waterfront at Redland Bay where ironing board flat water stretched out to the islands. After a short stretch of riding along the main road, we continued our waterside cruise at Point O’Halloran where the sun glinted off the water’s ripples. We turned down a road we’d never traveled and found ourselves cycling along some gravel paths and boardwalks through a small bushland reserve.

I love this kind of riding; meandering along scenic roads, barely raising a sweat and chatting away with my mum. That’s what I love most about being fit again; being able to go for a Sunday spin.

Total: 2 hours cycling
