My race history. I haven’t included Audax rides here because they are not races. They are included in my Audax rides page.
2013
  1. 1 December 2013 – Bayview Bash (we created and hosted this 6 hour adventure racing training day)
  2. 16 November 2013 – Dawn Attack (12hr adventure race – cut short due to severe thunder storm and hail)
  3. 11 October 2013 – Brizmazing Race, Brisbane (4hr Amazing Race style rogain – Team Whoops Witch Way – Best dressed award)
  4. 19 May 2013 – Adventure Race Australia, Pomona (7 hours of kayaking, MTB and trekking – result 15th/21 mixed teams in a very strong field)
  5. 27-28 April 2013 – Rogue 24hr Adventuregaine, Imbil (24hrs of kayaking, MTB and trekking – We finished 34th/45 total teams & 14th/17 mixed teams with 1,670/3,370 possible points – it was an amazing race!)
  6. 24 March 2013 – iAdventure Sprint Adventure Race, Nerang (Whoops Witch Way finished in 4:15 with 10 bonus points but we have to add a time penalty after skipping 2 MTB CPs – a tough day on the course – 18th/59 total teams and 6th / 22 mixed teams)
  7. 9 March 2013 – Kathmandu Adventure Race, Sunshine Coast (17km trail run, 18km MTB, 3km kayak – Whoops Witch Way finished in 4:04:45 – 36th/136 total teams and 7th/39 mixed teams)
  8. 23-24 February 2013 – Upside Down Rogaine (8hr night foot rogained – Whoops Witch Way scored 740 points out of a possible total of 2,240 points – 25th/52 total teams and 11th/20 mixed teams)
  9. 8th February 2013 – City Raid, Brisbane (Night scavenger hunt – My partner and I (We’re Lost) scored 1,130 points out of a possible total of 1,700 points – 32nd/83 total teams)
2012
  1. 7 October 2012 – Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge (100km mass participation ride – I had a great day out and completed the ride + 60km extra)
  2. 26 August 2012 – City to Surf Marathon, Perth (42.2km – 4:17 gun time)
  3. 18 August 2012 – Stockyard Creek Orienteer (5km red [most difficult] course – 84:44 – my first orienteer)
  4. 12 August 2012 – Lake Manchester Trail Run (22km trail run – 3:14)
  5. 29 July 2012 – Flinders Tour Trail Run (51.64km trail run – 6:48)
  6. 1 July 2012 – Tre-X Off Road Duathlon (6km trail run 33:45, 20km MTB 1:33:27, 3km trail run 17:57 – Total: 2:25:09)
  7. 20 May 2012 – Adventure Race Australia (Trekking, MTB and Kayaking with a heavy dose of rogaining – total: 7:48:33 and 10th/20 mixed teams)
  8. 12 May 2012 – Byron Bay Triathlon (1.5km swim 27:26, 36km bike 67:30, 10km run 50:55 – total: 2:28:30)
  9. 21 April 2012 – Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Triathlon (800m swim 12:24, 25km bike 47:44, 5km run 23:45 – total: 1:24:07)
  10. 18 March 2012 – Brisbane Twilight Half Marathon (21.1km road run – total: 1:46:33 with negative splits 10km @ 5:17 pace then last 11km @ 4:47 pace)
  11. 19 February 2012 – Kingsliff Triathlon (1.5km swim 20:45, 40km bike 1:10:24, 10km run 54:42 – total: 2:25:53)

  1. Mate you look like you’re always up for a challenge. I reckon you should have a quick look at the Rapid Ascent Anaconda Adventure Race in Noosa. You’d love it!

    • I’ve considered it but at this stage I don’t yet own a kayak. Unlike many other adventure races, Anaconda races require you to either bring your own kayak or pay extra to hire one. Also, the entry fees are really high ($193 for individual in full length race) compared with the other events I participate in ($40 – $100).

      It’s a shame that the event is outside my budget because they look really fantastic. If I didn’t race every month I could probably justify the entry fee for the event because I could spread the cost over 2-3 months, but at the moment there are a lot of races that I want to do. Who knows, maybe next year I will be able to manage the entry fees and will have my own kayak.
