I had a super-exciting surprise waiting on my desk this morning: the latest edition of Outer Edge Magazine was sitting on my desk. Now, I am always excited when the magazine arrives every two months. But this month was even more exciting because I found an article I submitted taking up the whole back page of this full colour glossy outdoor mag.
I’m also getting a Tatonka Rhino EXP alpine day pack for my efforts, so it’s a double win for me.
Well, in a way a triple win because Outer Edge is my source of adventure inspiration. I leave it lying each edition lying around my house and flip through it most days extracting every bit of inspiration I can from it.
Congratulations, Andrew! Such a very well deserved honor–and so exciting!
Thank you. π . When I left school I wanted to be a journalist. I even completed the first year of a journalism degree. But then I realised that there’s no job security in journalism, which wasn’t so cool for this Virgo (we tend to like some degree of security). So it’s particularly exciting to me to see my old teenage dreams coming true – even if only in a small way (though I do also write a 6-weekly column for a major GLBT magazine)
congrats! that’s awesome! congrats! i also looked at doing journalism in college but realized it’s too tough of a market (so i majored in writing instead? haha).
Thank you. Classic about majoring in writing instead of journalism. Though it’s obvious from your blog that you were born to write.
Congratulations Andrew, what a wonderful achievement!
Thank you π It was a cheeky achievement in a way. I tweeted OuterEdge Magazine a copy of my blog post and it went from there …
Nothing cheeky about that mate, they obviously loved it or they wouldn’t have published it. Kudos for tweeting I say! π
Fantastic!
Thank you. π
Great work Andrew, you should be pleased!
Yeah. Am definitely pleased Baz π
